GBM: A Voyage Back to Our Motherland Africa

Did you know that Haiti was the first black country to be independent? Well, we didn't do it on our own.
Come find out how Africa played a major role on Haiti. Let Club Creole and ASU give you a taste of the beauty of Haiti and Africa.

Pageant: Les Caciques D'Hispaniola

6:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Mr. & Ms. Club Creole 2012 Pageant: Les Caciques D'Hispaniola: Anacaona & Caonabo: an elaborate public dramatic presentation depicting the history of Haiti dating back to the 1490’s.
You are cordially invited to the crowning of this year’s Mr. and Ms. Club Creole.

Gamenight: Jwet Pou Ou

7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Do you want to play some games? Do you want to reconnect with or find your inner Haitian while getting a glimpse of other cultures games? Then be sure to come out to the Club Creole game night.
Explore the Haitian culture through classical Haitian games and brush up on your domino skills.
Not much of a domino player? Don’t worry we got you covered; we will have board games from Taboo to Monopoly. Not to Mention Pool and bowling all this can be yours to experience for FREE.

Ayiti: "Land of Fire, Land of Freedom"

8:00 pm
Gala is an annual benefit banquet put on by Club Creole to help the funding of Project Haiti, a non-profit organization within University of Florida’s med school. Every year, during spring break, the medical students travel to Haiti to provide pharmaceutical aid to those in need.
The banquet itself consists of food and drinks (buffet style), performances by Club Creole’s dance troupe and other out of town guests, a guest speaker, and the most exciting art auction of paintings imported directly from Haiti!
This year’s theme is Ayiti: Land of Fire, Land of Freedom and we’re reenacting Haiti’s history from the very beginning to the present, through a rendition of the revolution of Haiti and how Haiti got its freedom.

Soccer Tournament: The Glory Days of 1974

9:00 am – 3:00 pm
In order to commemorate the 1974 Haitian National team that went to the FIFA world cup in 1974, we’re hosting this soccer tournament.
Come out for a day of fun. There will be free food, live music…!

Treat yourself to a night of fun and dancing courtesy of Club Creole. Come explore the Haitian culture through dance, experience some traditional karnaval characters like Lensedkod, chaloska, Baka and Papa Jwis.
Catch up on the latest T-vice, Carimi, Boukman Esperans, Original Rap Staff, Ram, etc.
CC Kanaval is sure to be the party of the semester so put on your dancing shoes and get ready to move
